Our Promise
Hisab Kitab was built with a single guiding principle: your financial data belongs to you, and only you. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your personal or financial information. Everything you enter into the app — your income, expenses, assets, and budgets — stays on your device, always.

The short version of everything
This Privacy Policy describes how Hisab Kitab ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use our Android application. Hisab Kitab is a fully offline personal finance manager designed for users in Nepal, supporting both Bikram Sambat (BS) and Gregorian (AD) calendar systems.
By installing and using Hisab Kitab, you agree to the terms described in this policy. If you disagree with any part, you may uninstall the application at any time.
Data We Collect
What the app knows about you
Hisab Kitab stores data locally on your device only. The following information is saved to your phone's internal storage when you use the app:

Important: None of this data is ever transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party. It exists only within the app's local storage on your personal device.
How Data is Stored
Where your information lives
All data entered into Hisab Kitab is stored using Android's AsyncStorage — a local, sandboxed storage system on your device. This storage is:
- Accessible only by the Hisab Kitab application — no other app can read it
- Stored entirely on your phone's internal memory
- Deleted automatically when you uninstall the application
- Never synced to any cloud service (Google Drive, iCloud, etc.) unless you explicitly back up your phone
- Protected by your device's own security (PIN, fingerprint, encryption)
We recommend enabling device-level encryption (available in Android Settings → Security) for an additional layer of protection on all your locally stored data.
Data Sharing
Who else can see your data
We do not share your data with anyone — because we never receive it in the first place. The following entities have zero access to your Hisab Kitab data:
- Hisab Kitab developers and team members
- Advertising networks or marketing companies
- Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.)
- Government agencies or law enforcement (we have nothing to provide)
- Payment processors or financial institutions
- Any other third party, under any circumstance
No internet connection is required to use Hisab Kitab. The app works entirely offline. This means there is no technical mechanism by which your data could be sent anywhere — even unintentionally.
App Permissions
What the app asks access to
Hisab Kitab requests the minimum permissions necessary to function. Below is a complete list of what we may request and exactly why:

You can review and revoke any permissions at any time through your device's Settings → Apps → Hisab Kitab → Permissions.
Your Rights
What you are always entitled to
Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete and total control at all times. You may exercise the following rights directly within the app or your device — no requests to us required:
- Right to Access: View all your data at any time within the app
- Right to Correct: Edit any transaction, asset, or budget directly in the app
- Right to Delete: Delete individual records, or uninstall the app to remove everything
- Right to Portability: Export your data via the app's backup feature
- Right to Restrict Processing: Simply stop using the app — no data is processed outside your device
Since we do not collect, store, or process your data on any external system, there is no need to submit a formal data access or deletion request to us. Your control is immediate and absolute.
Children's Privacy
Use by minors
Hisab Kitab does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The application is intended for general audiences and designed primarily for adults managing personal finances.
Since the app collects no data whatsoever on external servers, it poses no data privacy risk to users of any age. However, we recommend parental guidance for younger users interacting with financial tools.
Policy Changes
How we handle updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the application, legal requirements, or our practices. When we do:
- The updated policy will be published on our Play Store listing and this page
- The "Effective Date" at the top will be updated in both BS and AD formats
- For material changes, we will include a notice in the app's next update release notes
- Continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. All historical versions are available on request via email.
